U.S. Army forces and multinational partners began training against opposing forces in Hawaii on Wednesday, Nov. 4, in a Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center rotation involving about 7,000 personnel, according to the 25th Infantry Division.

What the exercise tests
This phase tests the 25th Infantry Division’s ability to seize and hold key terrain in a simulated contested, multidomain environment, the division said. “We are leveraging the condition setting and synchronization of warfighting functions to enable our light fighters to win in close combat,” said Brig. Gen. Robert Bryant, the division’s deputy commander for support.
French forces and the island chain
On Maui and Oahu, the 25th Combat Aviation Brigade is working with elements of France’s 6th Light Armored Brigade to secure forward arming and refueling points, according to the division. Ground forces on Oahu and the island of Hawaii are moving to secure initial objectives.
What happens next
In the next phase, the 11th Airborne Division will carry out a mass parachute jump into the Pōhakuloa Training Area to secure key infrastructure, the division said. The 25th Infantry Division will then fly infantry troops over water in a long-range air assault to reinforce the position. More coverage is on the War News hub.
