Boston business directory FAQ
What is the Boston business directory?
It is The Boston Report’s free-to-browse list of local businesses in Boston and nearby Massachusetts towns. Each listing links to the business’s own website, and our editors check listings before they go live.
Does the directory cover all of Massachusetts?
Not yet. The Massachusetts business directory currently has hubs for Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Brookline, Newton, Quincy, Malden, Medford, Winchester, Woburn, Burlington, Waltham and Lexington. We add towns as listings grow.
How much is a directory listing?
A Basic Listing costs $19 per year and stays live for 12 months from approval. You fill in your details and pay at secure checkout; our editors then review the listing and email you when it is live. Paid Featured listings are optional and described on our Advertise page.
How do I check whether a Massachusetts business is registered?
Use the Massachusetts Secretary of the Commonwealth’s business entity search, which shows filings for corporations, LLCs and other registered entities. Our directory is a consumer guide, not an official registry.
Are listings reviews or endorsements?
No. Listings describe a business and link to its website. They are not reviews or endorsements, and any paid Featured listing is clearly labeled.
