What Tajani said
In a post on X, Tajani blamed cybercriminals for posting his personal data and said he has been subjected to intimidation because of his support for Ukraine, CBS News said. He said the leaks have gone on for days and that his family has also been targeted.
“Our position on Ukraine is the political reason I have been targeted,” Tajani said. He said he would not be intimidated and would keep strengthening cooperation with Italy’s allies.
What Meloni said
In a separate statement, Meloni expressed solidarity with Tajani over the activities of pro-Russian hackers and the spread of his data, according to CBS News. She called the sale of confidential information about government officials a cause of serious concern that must be tackled firmly.
