Saudi-led air defenses said Friday they intercepted and destroyed a drone over the Mecca region and earlier downed two Houthi ballistic missiles aimed at Najran province, as President Donald Trump told reporters he might have to “destroy the rest” of Iran and that “you’ll know soon enough.” Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps separately claimed its Aerospace Force used electronic warfare to disable two U.S. MQM-170 reconnaissance drones over Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said a drone was intercepted and destroyed in the Mecca region and that air defenses destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward Najran in southwestern Saudi Arabia, Anadolu Agency reported. Al-Maliki said debris fell after the missile intercepts and that damage was being assessed. Saudi Civil Defense had issued a Najran warning before saying the danger had passed. The coalition did not immediately report casualties from the Mecca incident. Claims from the Saudi-led coalition are attributed here as coalition statements.

Trump’s warning and the Qatar mediation channel

In Oval Office remarks to reporters on Thursday, Trump said the United States would decide whether to “go further and just certify it, by certifying it meaning it will never happen again,” adding: “I would rather not destroy the rest of the country, if possible, but maybe I’ll have to. And you’ll know soon enough,” Anadolu reported. He said he thinks Iran will need about 25 years to rebuild after the war that began in February, and when asked about mediator nuclear proposals he said Tehran is “not doing anything without our approval.”

Separately, Qatar’s Emiri Diwan said Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Trump spoke by phone about strategic ties and about international efforts, including Doha’s mediation, to reach a comprehensive agreement that resolves the crisis with Iran, Anadolu reported. The emir stressed sustained dialogue to prevent further escalation and the need to protect freedom of navigation and energy supplies. No comprehensive agreement was announced. Our earlier reporting on Trump’s call with Qatar’s emir on Iran de-escalation covers that diplomatic channel in more detail. The Iran war tracker follows the conflict day by day.

Guards claim two more drones over Qeshm

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said in two statements that its Aerospace Force used advanced electronic warfare systems to disable two U.S. MQM-170 reconnaissance drones over Qeshm Island, bringing the Guards’ claimed MQM-170 total to six, according to Anadolu, citing Iranian state news agency IRNA. The statements gave no wreckage imagery, serial numbers or recovery details. No U.S. military confirmation or denial of those specific downs appeared in the opened sources; war.gov carried no Iran strike item in the window. Claims from the IRGC and IRNA are treated here as unverified Unverified claim, IRNA (Iranian state media).

Arab condemnations, Yemen’s Dawn offensive and Syria raids

Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan condemned Thursday’s Houthi attempt to target the Medina region — an intercept covered in yesterday’s wires — calling it a sovereignty violation and, in several statements, an affront to Muslim holy sites; the Houthis rejected claims that they targeted Medina, Anadolu reported. Our earlier report on Gulf states condemning the Houthi Madinah missile attempt covers those diplomatic reactions. Bahrain urged the U.N. Security Council to take firmer measures against repeated Houthi attacks on religious sites and civilians.

Yemen’s army spokesman Majed Abdullah al-Nuzaili said government forces carried out 1,298 operations with air, drone and artillery support, claiming about 440 Houthi fighters and commanders neutralized and 132 vehicles or heavy weapons destroyed or damaged, and that forces captured the Sanamat area in Taiz while mine clearance continued in Al-Jawf, Anadolu reported. Those figures are Yemeni government claims and were not independently verified in the sources checked. Yesterday’s report on the monthlong Houthi siege of Taiz described the humanitarian squeeze on the southwestern city.

Local reports said the Israeli army fired two artillery shells onto farmland near Beit Jinn southwest of Damascus and separately raided Al-Hurriya village in the Quneitra countryside, Anadolu and Anadolu reported. Detailed casualty figures for those specific events were not established in the sources checked.

Israel politics, Putin-Rezaei and the Mecca defense pact

President Isaac Herzog said in a Thursday video message that parties representing 67 of 120 Knesset members recommended Yashar leader Gadi Eisenkot and parties holding 46 seats backed Benjamin Netanyahu, but that mutual vetoes still make government formation uncertain, Anadolu reported. He said he would announce on Sunday who will receive the mandate. On Friday, Avigdor Lieberman said the change bloc must end the Netanyahu era, lifted his veto on ultra-Orthodox parties on issues including the conscription law, and insisted any 61-seat coalition must not rely on the Joint List or Ra’am abstaining, Anadolu reported. Earlier coverage of Israel’s coalition talks and Eisenkot-Netanyahu recommendations set the seat arithmetic.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan spoke by phone and urged wisdom, dialogue and more time for negotiations while coordinating with partners including the United States and Qatar, Anadolu reported. In Moscow, the Kremlin said Putin received Mohsen Rezaei, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council; Yuri Ushakov and GRU chief Igor Kostyukov also attended, Anadolu reported. Iranian state media said Rezaei delivered a message from the supreme leader Unverified claim, IRIB (Iranian state media). Türkiye’s parliament approved the Mecca Joint Defense Agreement with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia by 279 votes to 119, Anadolu reported.

In Gaza, medical sources told Anadolu that Israeli drone and gunfire incidents killed four Palestinians and wounded 11 across the Strip on Thursday, with further deaths reported Friday, amid what Palestinian sources describe as continued violations of a ceasefire in effect since Oct. 10, 2025; these are attributed local and medical claims, Anadolu reported.

Claimed and confirmed figures from Nov. 5–6 show a crowded theater. The Saudi-led coalition reported one Mecca-region drone intercept and two Najran ballistic-missile intercepts. The IRGC claimed two MQM-170 downs over Qeshm without independent confirmation. Yemen’s army claimed 1,298 Dawn of Yemen operations, about 440 fighters neutralized and 132 vehicles or heavy weapons destroyed or damaged. By TBR calculations from Anadolu’s Yemen reporting, the army’s claimed equipment losses average roughly one vehicle or piece of gear destroyed or damaged for every 9.8 operations (132 ÷ 1,298). Herzog’s consultation tally put Eisenkot at 67 recommendations against Netanyahu’s 46 in the 120-seat Knesset.
