Most kosher restaurants in the Boston area sit on or near one stretch of Harvard Street in Brookline, with a handful more in Newton, Somerville, Canton and Wellesley. This guide lists sit-down and takeout spots that appear on the live directory of KVH Kosher, the Boston-based certifying agency also known as the Rabbinical Council of New England, as checked on Oct. 22, 2026. Kosher status can change, so diners who keep strict standards should look for the current KVH certificate posted in the store or open the letter linked from the KVH directory before ordering.

Rami’s Restaurant & Catering, 324 Harvard St.

Its website lists hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, and it is closed Saturday for Shabbat and on various Jewish holidays.

Kosher Wok is certified glatt kosher meat and is listed by KVH as a meat takeout counter and meat caterer.
Bonapita, 400 Harvard St.
KVH certifies Bonapita for glatt kosher meat, pareve and dairy (chalav stam) and lists it under meat, dairy and pareve catering.
Pure Cold Press, 326 Harvard St.
This juice and food spot is listed as a chalav Yisrael dairy establishment, meaning its dairy comes from milk produced under Jewish supervision.
Kupel’s Bakery, 421 Harvard St.
Kupel’s is listed for bagels, baked goods and light food service. KVH classifies it as pareve (pas Yisroel) and dairy.
The Butcherie, 428 Harvard St.
The Butcherie is a kosher grocery, butcher, bakery and takeout counter. Its current KVH letter, dated Oct. 15, 2026, covers glatt kosher meat, pareve and chalav Yisrael dairy and is valid from Sept. 12 through Dec. 31, 2026. KVH also lists a second Butcherie kitchen at 374 Boylston St. in Brookline Village, and Chai Catering operates from the Harvard Street address.
Kosher food near Coolidge Corner: Cypress Street
Two certified spots sit side by side on Cypress Street, a short walk from Coolidge Corner. Za’tar Mediterranean, 10 Cypress St., is glatt kosher meat, and KVH notes that its pita is pas Yisroel and yoshon. Next door, The Kosher Veggie Crust, 8 Cypress St., is a chalav Yisrael and pas Yisroel dairy establishment. A second Kosher Veggie Crust location at 14 Warren St. in Waltham is also on the KVH list.
Kosher restaurants in Newton, Somerville and the suburbs
- Rosenfeld Bagel Co., 1280 Centre St., Newton Centre: KVH lists it as pareve, pas Yisroel and yoshon, with dairy items.
- JCC Cafe, 333 Nahanton St., Newton: a glatt kosher meat cafe inside JCC Greater Boston.
- Lehrhaus Tavern, 425 Washington St., Somerville: certified dairy (chalav stam). Lehrhaus calls itself a nonprofit “Jewish tavern and house of learning” that serves food drawn from the Jewish Diaspora alongside classes and events.

Zayde’s says it also runs weekly pizza pickups on Thursdays at 5 p.m. at Shaloh House, 29 Chestnut Hill Ave. in Brighton.
- Jejes Coffeehouse, 259 Washington St., Wellesley: certified pareve and dairy (chalav stam).
Kosher food at Boston sports venues
KVH certifies glatt kosher meat concessions at TD Garden, home of the Celtics and Bruins, and lists Hot Nosh Boston at Fenway Park on the Grand Concourse behind Right Field Boxes 87 to 89. Fans heading to a Worcester Red Sox game can find a KVH-certified glatt kosher stand at Polar Park.
Kosher ice cream in Boston
Many J.P. Licks shops are on the KVH list, including Coolidge Corner, Newton Centre, Harvard Square, Davis Square, Jamaica Plain, Charles Street, Boylston Street, Newbury Street, West Roxbury and South Bay. KVH says the dairy ice cream, pastries and cakes are kosher dairy (chalav stam), and that dairy-free items are made on dairy equipment.
Kosher dining on Boston college campuses
KVH certifies kosher dining at Harvard Hillel (52 Mount Auburn St., Cambridge), Boston University Hillel (213 Bay State Road), MIT, Northeastern University and Brandeis University’s Sherman Dining and Louis’ Deli in Waltham. Tufts University’s Pax et Lox in Medford is a glatt kosher meat deli. Some campus kitchens limit access to students and guests, so check with each dining office before visiting.
How to check a kosher certificate in Boston
The KVH directory links each listing to its current letter of certification, which spells out whether a business is meat, dairy or pareve, whether dairy is chalav Yisrael or chalav stam, and the dates the letter is valid. A business that is not on the list, or whose certificate has lapsed, is not covered by KVH. Other agencies certify some products and businesses in the region, so diners can ask their own rabbi which certifications they accept.
