Dalia, a Spanish restaurant built around wood-fired cooking, opened on April 2, 2026, at 429 West Broadway in South Boston. It comes from chef Nicholas Dixon and the Broadway Restaurant Group (BRG), and since July it has added weekend brunch and a downstairs lounge. Here is what has been reported about the menu, the space, hours and reviews.
Who is behind Dalia South Boston
Broadway Restaurant Group is based in South Boston. Its other restaurants include Lincoln Tavern and Hunter’s in Southie, Prima in Charlestown and Capri in the South End. Boston.com reported that Dalia is the group’s first Spanish concept. The opening announcement, published by Caught in Southie, calls it Dixon’s most ambitious chef-driven project so far. It lists his chef team as Quintin Pocher, Stephen Gonzales, Mark Lutz, Jacey Vaccaro, Jack Nagler, Marissa Hart and Joey Norton.
BRG owner Eric Aulenback said in that announcement: “We’re really excited to add Dalia to our family of South Boston restaurants.”
The wood-fired Spanish menu
Dalia’s kitchen centers on a la brasa, or live-fire, cooking. It was custom-built by Josper in Barcelona and sits in full view of the dining room, with four Basque-style grills, a wood-fired broiler and a paella station. According to the restaurant’s menu page, the dinner menu is split into tapas, crudos del mar, house breads (pan de la casa), robata, feasts and paella. There are separate lists for sherry, wine and cocktails.
Dishes named in opening coverage include:
- Savory churros filled with crab and topped with caviar.
- Calamari cut lengthwise, cooked over charcoal and served like dan dan noodles in a sauce of Ibérico pork and sobrassada. Boston Magazine described the dish, and Boston.com listed it at $17.
- Lubina, a sea bass crudo from the Canary Islands with Spanish-style horchata and pomegranate.
- Robata dishes such as Ibérico pluma with passionfruit caramel and quince jam, and a New Bedford scallop with morcilla chili crisp and sherry soubise.
- Tapas classics, including patatas bravas, gambas al ajillo, a mushroom empanada and the “Bikini,” a pressed ham, Comté and truffle sandwich on house pan de cristal.
- Paella in classic and vegetarian versions, made by a three-person team that handles each stage of the cooking, from toasting the rice to forming the socarrat crust.
- Large-format dishes, including a whole suckling pig imported from Spain, a whole local fish with pil pil sauce and a wagyu tomahawk.
At opening, Boston.com reported that tapas, crudo and other small plates cost between $9 and $22, and larger entrees between $45 and $170. Prices may have changed since.
Inside the 226-seat dining room
South Boston firm Assembly Design Studio designed the interior. It also worked on BRG’s Prima and Capri. Boston.com reported that Dalia has 226 seats. Erica Diskin, who owns Assembly with Michael Diskin, told the outlet the team’s goal was “to make it feel very cozy and intimate, so we did a lot of rooms within rooms.” The sections include a fireside cafe area, a chef’s counter by the kitchen and a dining room under a large plant-filled skylight.
Brunch and the Leopard Lounge
On July 25, 2026, Dalia started weekend brunch and opened a downstairs space called the Leopard Lounge, according to the restaurant’s announcement. The brunch menu includes Spanish tortillas (omelettes), Migas Dalia with chorizo and guanciale, huevos estrellados, duck confit hash, torrija (Spain’s version of French toast) and churros with chocolate.
The lounge adds 75 seats in booths, lounge areas and at the bar. It is 21+, and the restaurant’s FAQ says it serves the upstairs menu except paella. The Infatuation listed the lounge in August but noted it had not yet visited.

Reviews and reception
When we checked, Yelp showed an average of 4.4 stars from 45 reviews. Reviewers there mentioned the decor, the crab churros, the patatas bravas and the paella. Some also mentioned high prices for the portion sizes and dishes arriving at uneven intervals. BostonChefs called the opening “one of the season’s most anticipated.”
