Boston’s high-end restaurants entered a new era on November 18, 2025, when the MICHELIN Guide published its first Boston selection. This guide to the best high-end restaurants in Boston lists 19 fine-dining rooms that are open as of October 2026, from tasting-menu counters in the South End to steakhouses in Back Bay and a rooftop above the Public Garden. Each entry links to the restaurant’s own website, and prices come from restaurant sites or the MICHELIN Guide’s price levels.

How we chose these restaurants

We started with the MICHELIN Guide’s 2025 Boston list. That selection covers restaurants inside the Route 128 corridor: one starred restaurant, six Bib Gourmands and 19 Recommended restaurants. We kept the Recommended and starred rooms that charge fine-dining prices and added long-running luxury restaurants that Michelin did not list, such as Grill 23, Uni and Sorellina. We checked that each one’s website or booking page is active this month. Two once-famous names are left out: Barbara Lynch’s Menton closed in January 2024, and No. 9 Park closed at the end of 2024. Nine, the restaurant that replaced it on Beacon Hill, closed in June 2026.

Michelin’s next Northeast Cities ceremony, covering Boston, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington, is scheduled for December 14, 2026, in New York. We will update this page when the new stars are announced.

Tips for booking fine dining in Boston

  • Booking windows: 311 Omakase releases 75 days of tables at noon on the 15th of each month. Most other rooms here book through Resy, OpenTable or Tock; set alerts on those apps for popular weekend slots.
  • Cancellation fees: Omakase counters prepare food in advance. Wa Shin charges the full menu price for late cancellations, 311 Omakase charges $150 per person within 48 hours, and Lenox Sophia charges $50 per person for same-day cancellations.
  • Dietary needs: 311 Omakase asks for allergies at least 72 hours ahead and cannot do vegetarian or no-raw-fish menus. Asta offers vegetarian and vegan tastings with notice.
  • Dress code: Most rooms list smart casual. Jackets are rarely required, but dressier spots such as Grill 23 and Sorellina draw a business crowd.
  • Restaurant Week: Meet Boston runs Dine Out Boston twice a year; the next edition is February 20 to March 7, 2027, with set-price menus at many participating restaurants. Check the Dine Out Boston page for dates and participants.
  • Fees on the bill: Read the fine print. Wa Shin adds a 20% administrative fee, and 311 Omakase adds a 7% kitchen fee.
