Who advertises with us
Our advertising options are built for Boston small businesses, restaurants and local service providers: the cafe opening on a new block, the family restaurant, the contractor, the tutor, the event organizer. We cover the city every day, so a local sponsor sits next to stories about the neighborhoods and teams readers care about, including our Boston restaurants guide, the Boston small business guide, the Boston sports hub and the new Boston business directory.

Best for: reaching readers directly
Custom partnerships
Have another idea, such as a guide, a series or a seasonal campaign? Tell us what you need and we will say plainly whether it fits our standards.
Best for: larger or longer campaigns
Editorial independence and disclosure
- Advertising never shapes our news. Advertisers and sponsors have no influence on what we report, how we report it or when we correct it.
- Every paid placement is labeled. Section sponsors carry a “Sponsor” label, paid articles a “Sponsored” label and disclosure line, and paid directory listings a “Featured listing (paid)” label. Links in paid placements are marked as sponsored for search engines.
- No sponsored politics or government coverage. We do not sell ads, sponsorships or content about elections, candidates, ballot questions, political issues or government decisions.
- Our own features stay ours. Restaurant and business stories we choose ourselves are not for sale, and a paid feature never guarantees favorable independent coverage.
- No fake numbers. We do not promise impressions or clicks, and we report only what our analytics can actually measure.
Read how we work in our Editorial Standards & AI Use Policy, our Corrections Policy, the Advertiser Terms and the About page.
Ad standards
We review every creative before it runs. We do not accept political advertising of any kind, misleading or deceptive claims, adult content, gambling, illegal goods or services, hateful content, or anything that violates the policies of the ad networks we work with, including Google’s publisher policies. We may decline or remove an ad at our discretion.
How it works
- Send an inquiry. Use the form below or email us with your goals, timing and the package you want.
- We confirm fit. We check the request against our standards and tell you plainly if it is a match.
- Get a written order. You receive the price, placement, dates and deliverables in writing before anything is billed.
- Review and pay. You review sponsored copy for accuracy about your business, then pay through a secure Stripe checkout link or an invoice. Our news coverage is never reviewed by advertisers.
- Launch and report back. Your placement goes live with the right labels on the agreed date, and we share what we can reliably measure.
