What he wants to do

Sanders told VTDigger he would try to rescind provisions of President Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act that are slated to push millions off Medicaid, and restore enhanced Affordable Care Act subsidies that Congress let lapse last year. He also wants the committee to “be very aggressive about moving toward ‘Medicare for All,’” he said Thursday.

He also wants to advance the PRO Act, VTDigger reported.

The numbers

As of Friday afternoon, Democrats, with whom Sanders caucuses, were projected to control at least 54 Senate seats and 253 House seats, according to The Associated Press, though some races had not been called, VTDigger said. The new Congress is seated in January.
