A Local Chain’s Biggest Bar

Tavern in the Square is owned by Broadway Hospitality Group. The group’s CEO, a Somerville native, told the paper the Shoppers World site was an ideal spot for the bar and grill. The MetroWest Daily News reported in August 2023 that Framingham was the chain’s 14th location, that the John Harvard’s space had been empty for more than three years, and that the remodeled interior includes a 60-seat bar, the largest of any Tavern in the Square. The restaurant lists Brendan Clifford as general manager and Tim Rosati as executive chef.
