Bleacher Bar is the only bar inside Fenway Park. It sits at 82A Lansdowne Street, directly beneath the center-field bleachers, and its main feature is a window the size of a garage door that looks straight out onto the outfield grass. You do not need a game ticket to get in, and there is never a cover charge.

From Batting Cage to Bar
Before it poured a beer, the room was the visiting team’s batting cage and a storage space for field-maintenance equipment, according to the bar. It opened as Bleacher Bar on May 16, 2008. The bar is owned and run by the Lyons Group, not by the Boston Red Sox, which is why it keeps its own hours and is open year-round rather than only on game days.
Hours and the Game-Day Rules
- Regular hours: Monday to Thursday 11:30 a.m. to midnight; Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 2 a.m.; Sunday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. The bar says it is open 364 days a year.
- Game days: hours can change, and the bar opens two hours before every Red Sox home game. It says the busiest stretch is the two to three hours before first pitch.
- Watching the game: during games the glass garage door is lowered. Guests can still see out onto the field, but players cannot see in, and there is no access to the field.
- Age policy: 21 and over during all home games and every day after 10 p.m. At other times, guests under 21 must be with a parent or legal guardian.
Reservations, Food and Events
Bleacher Bar seats walk-ins first come, first served, and takes advance table bookings through Resy. Larger groups and buyouts go through its private events program, which the bar says is planned by Boston’s Best Events. The bar posts its food and drink menus, a calendar of game-day specials and live music, catering options and online ordering on its website, and sells its own merchandise in person and online.
Getting There
The entrance is on Lansdowne Street; the bar tells guests to look for the Bleacher Bar sign at the ballpark gate. Kenmore station on the MBTA Green Line is a few minutes’ walk away, and there is street parking and several garages along Lansdowne Street and Brookline Avenue, though spaces are scarce on game days. The phone number is (617) 262-2424.
Tips for a Visit
- Go on a non-game day for the best chance at a window table and a quiet look at the empty ballpark.
- Arrive early on game days. Lines build well before first pitch, and the room is small.
- Check the age rules if you are bringing children; the 21-plus policy applies all game long.
