The Wahlburgers Fenway closing is set for Saturday, Oct. 31, when the burger chain’s restaurant at 132 Brookline Ave., down the street from Fenway Park, ends an 11-year run because its lease is running out. The company announced the move on Instagram this week, one month after it shut its original Hingham Shipyard location.
Once it closes, the chain’s only Boston restaurants will be its two locations at Logan Airport. If you want one last O.F.D. burger and a basket of tots on Brookline Avenue, today is the day to go.
Why Wahlburgers is leaving the Fenway
In its post, the company said the Fenway location “will close on October 31 as our lease comes to an end,” according to the text quoted by WHDH 7News. It thanked guests who came in “for game days, celebrations and everyday moments” and said it is “actively pursuing a new home in the Boston area,” with more details promised “soon.” The chain has not named a new site, and it has not said whether a replacement would land in the Fenway or somewhere else in the city.
The closing date has been reported two ways. Boston 25 News and WOKQ first wrote that the last day would be Friday, Oct. 30. The company’s own wording, as quoted by WHDH and Boston.com, gives Oct. 31, and Hoodline also reported a Halloween closing. If you are making a special trip, a quick call to the restaurant before you leave is a good idea.
The restaurant is part of The Fenway development on Brookline Avenue, a short walk from the ballpark and the bars and music clubs around Lansdowne Street. The Fenway’s own listing describes it as a counter-serve spot with a full bar pouring cocktails, adult shakes and the house Wahlbrewski beer, with dine-in, takeout and delivery. That made it an easy pregame stop for Red Sox fans, in the same neighborhood as places like Bleacher Bar inside Fenway Park and the brasserie Eastern Standard on Commonwealth Avenue.
A third Massachusetts closing in about 18 months
The Fenway closing follows a run of local exits for a brand that started on the South Shore. Chef Paul Wahlberg opened the first Wahlburgers at the Hingham Shipyard in October 2011 with his brothers, actor Mark Wahlberg and New Kids on the Block singer Donnie Wahlberg, Boston.com reported. The family’s Dorchester roots show up on the menu: the O.F.D. burger stands for “Originally From Dorchestah.” The restaurant also became the setting for the A&E reality series “Wahlburgers,” which ran for 10 seasons from 2014 to 2019, CBS Boston noted.
That original Hingham restaurant at 19 Shipyard Drive closed on Sept. 30, 2026, after nearly 15 years, also because its lease was ending. Before that, the Lynnfield location at MarketStreet closed in April 2025 after almost a decade, Hoodline reported, citing MassLive. Boston Restaurant Talk, in a report published by NBC Boston, noted that a South Bay location in Dorchester had also closed in recent years. Hoodline counts Fenway as the chain’s third Massachusetts closing in roughly 18 months.
Once the Fenway doors lock, Wahlburgers will have four Massachusetts locations left, according to Boston.com: two at Logan Airport, in Terminals C and E, one at Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville and one in Springfield. For Boston diners, that means the nearest Wahlburgers outside the airport is now a drive to Plainville.
What the Fenway menu cost
The chain’s own page for the Fenway restaurant still listed its menu this week. The signature Our Burger, a single Certified Angus Beef patty with what the menu calls “government cheese” and the house Wahl Sauce, was $9.95. The two-patty Our Burger Smash was $14.50, the BBQ Bacon Burger $11.75, the O.F.D. $13.50 and the plant-based Impossible Burger $14.25. Fries, tater tots, sweet potato tots and onion rings were $3.95 each, and truffle fries or Parmesan truffle tots were $8.95. Combos with fries and a soda ran from $14.95 to $17.50. Kids’ meals were $7.45 to $7.95.
The Fenway site lists the restaurant’s regular hours as 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Wahlburgers has not posted separate hours for the final day.

What comes next for Wahlburgers in Boston
The shrinking local footprint does not match the company’s national story. In the same post, Wahlburgers said it opened 10 new restaurants across the country in 2026, Boston.com reported. It listed 2027 plans for Puerto Rico, The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, the Athletics’ future stadium in Las Vegas, Bass Pro Shops stores in California and Colorado, and more Home Depot locations. According to its website, as cited by Boston.com, the chain operates in more than a dozen states and four countries, including Australia and New Zealand.
For now, the promised “new home in the Boston area” is only a promise. The company used almost the same wording when it announced the Hingham closing in September, and a month later it has not named a site. We will update this story if Wahlburgers announces a new Boston location.
