Boston Events Calendar: Elections, City Hall Meetings and Public Hearings

Last updated: October 28, 2026

This calendar lists official public events in Boston for the next six weeks. Election dates and government meetings come first, followed by public board meetings and a short list of major concerts. Every entry links to its official listing, and all times are Eastern. Meetings can be canceled or moved, so check the official listing before you go.

City Hall

Boston City Council meetings, committee hearings, budget hearings and Mayor's Office advisory meetings.

The full Council usually meets Wednesdays at noon. The calendar below shows only meetings with a posted notice; there is none for Nov. 11 (Veterans Day) or Nov. 25. Agendas appear on the Council’s Legistar calendar before each meeting. Mayor’s Office meetings appear here once the City posts them as public notices.

State House

Massachusetts Legislature sessions and hearings, and state agency hearings in Boston.

The Governor’s Council generally meets Wednesdays at noon in Room 360 of the State House to vote on judicial nominations and other matters. Dates and nomination hearings are posted on the Governor’s Council page. No date after Oct. 28 had been posted when we last checked, so none is listed below. We also found no federal naturalization ceremonies in Boston open to the public in this period.

Public meetings

School Committee, zoning, planning, licensing and other City boards.

Many of these meetings take public comment, and that is the main way residents can weigh in on decisions. For civic forums: we found no upcoming nonpartisan candidate debates or forums in Boston before Nov. 3. The League of Women Voters of Boston posts its forums on its events page.

Concerts

Top shows at major Boston venues. No sports events.

Dates and times come from each venue’s official or ticketing page. Concerts only: Bruins, Celtics and other sports events are not listed.
