Which Asian cities can you fly to nonstop from Boston?

The Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport), which runs Logan, lists Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul and Tokyo among its international nonstop destinations. Massport notes that some routes on its list are seasonal and advises travelers to confirm schedules with the airline. Route details below come from airline schedule filings compiled by the travel sites PassRider (checked in August 2026) and AeroRoutes.

Boston to Tokyo: Japan Airlines

Japan Airlines flies daily between Boston and Tokyo’s Narita International Airport with a Boeing 787, according to PassRider. FlightQ, a schedule tracker, listed one to two Japan Airlines departures a day in its August 2026 snapshot. Narita is a hub for connections across Japan and to other cities in Asia on Japan Airlines and its oneworld partners.

Boston to Seoul: Korean Air

Korean Air operates a daily Boeing 777 between Boston and Seoul Incheon International Airport. Incheon is Korean Air’s main hub, with onward flights to cities in China, Japan and Southeast Asia.

Boston to Hong Kong: Cathay Pacific

Cathay Pacific’s daily Airbus A350 flight to Hong Kong is the longest scheduled nonstop from Boston, at roughly 15 hours 15 minutes, PassRider reports. The flight operates as CX812 from Hong Kong. Hong Kong International Airport offers Cathay connections to Southeast Asia, India and Australia.

Boston to Beijing: Hainan Airlines

Hainan Airlines flies three times a week between Beijing Capital International Airport and Boston. AeroRoutes reported in July 2026 that, for flights from Oct. 1, 2026, Hainan would keep the route nonstop in both directions rather than routing the return through Brussels. Its schedule shows flight HU730 leaving Boston at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays on a Boeing 787-9, with HU729 arriving from Beijing at 9 p.m. on the same days.

Flying to India, Southeast Asia or Taiwan from Boston

Massachusetts has about 131,000 residents of Asian Indian descent, according to Census Bureau estimates, but there is no nonstop flight between Boston and India. In February 2025, The Boston Globe reported that Meet Boston, the city’s tourism bureau, had met with Air India and that Massport was in discussions with the airline. No Boston route has been announced as of Oct. 25, 2026.

Travelers to India, Southeast Asia and other parts of South Asia typically connect through one of three Gulf hubs with daily nonstops from Logan: Emirates to Dubai, Qatar Airways to Doha and Etihad Airways to Abu Dhabi. Other common routings connect through Tokyo, Seoul or Hong Kong on the nonstops above, through European hubs, or through U.S. West Coast gateways.

Entry rules to check before you fly

Entry requirements depend on your citizenship. For U.S. passport holders, the State Department’s country pages say:

  • Japan: No visa is required for tourist or business stays of under 90 days. Your passport must be valid for your entire stay, and the State Department points travelers to Visit Japan Web to complete arrival procedures ahead of time. The State Department rates Japan Level 1, “Exercise normal precautions.”
  • Mainland China: In general, travelers must get a visa before arriving, with limited visa-free and transit exceptions. Passports must be valid at least six months beyond arrival with two blank pages. The State Department’s advisory for China is Level 2, “Exercise increased caution,” updated Oct. 19, 2026, and it specifically warns that U.S. citizens of Chinese heritage may face added scrutiny and that China does not recognize dual nationality.
  • South Korea and Hong Kong: Rules differ from mainland China and change periodically, so check the State Department’s pages and the airline before departure.

Travelers who are not U.S. citizens should check the consulate of each destination and any transit country.
