Bruins Bring 8-Game Point Streak to Raleigh to Face Champion Hurricanes

Bruins (9-2-1) visit the Stanley Cup champion Hurricanes (9-2-2) Tuesday at 8 p.m. on ESPN with an eight-game point streak. Stats, injuries, how to watch.

The Boston Bruins carry an eight-game point streak into Raleigh, North Carolina, on Tuesday night, Oct. 27, 2026, for a meeting of division leaders against the defending Stanley Cup champion Carolina Hurricanes. Puck drop at Lenovo Center is 8 p.m. ET on ESPN, according to the Hurricanes’ official game preview.

Bruins vs. Hurricanes: first place on both sides

Boston enters 9-2-1 with 19 points and first place in the Atlantic Division. Carolina is 9-2-2 with 20 points and leads the Metropolitan Division, according to the Hurricanes’ preview. CBS Sports reported the Hurricanes were the first NHL team this season to reach 20 points, a first for the franchise, while Boston has 19 points in one fewer game.

The Bruins’ run is 7-0-1 over eight games. They scored six goals in each of their last two games, a 6-0 win over Nashville and a 6-4 win over San Jose on Saturday, Oct. 24, and have scored four or more goals in all seven wins during the streak. Boston averages four goals a game, a number bested only by Edmonton (4.36) and Colorado (4.08), according to the Hurricanes’ preview. The Boston Report covered both games: the 6-0 shutout of the Predators and the 6-4 win over the Sharks.

“We know we were far from our best (Saturday),” Bruins forward David Pastrnak said after the San Jose game, according to CBS Sports. “It’s OK, we ended up winning, and it’s hard to win in this league. … But we also have much better than that.”

Players to watch: Pastrnak, Hagens and Swayman

Pastrnak leads Boston with 17 points in 12 games, including five goals and nine points in his last five games. Rookie James Hagens, the seventh overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, co-leads all NHL rookies in goals (4) and points (9), according to the Hurricanes’ preview. Jeremy Swayman has started nine of Boston’s 12 games and ranks seventh in the league in goals-against average (2.20) and sixth in save percentage (.920) among goalies with at least five games played.

Morgan Geekie faces the organization that drafted him in the second round in 2017. He played parts of three seasons with Carolina before moving on.

Carolina’s side: home for the first time in two weeks

The Hurricanes return from a 3-1-1 road trip that ended with a 4-0 win at St. Louis on Saturday, when Pyotr Kochetkov earned the shutout and Sebastian Aho and Seth Jarvis each had two assists. Tuesday is Carolina’s first home game in two weeks.

“A win always feels good,” Kochetkov said after the St. Louis game, according to CBS Sports. “We just want to go home because (it’s been a) long trip. I’m very happy for the guys.”

Injuries: Carolina forward Jordan Staal is on injured reserve with a torn calf suffered Oct. 11 and is expected to miss one to two months. Former Bruin Taylor Hall, out since an Oct. 13 upper-body injury, could return as soon as Tuesday, according to the team. Forward Mark Jankowski was not expected to play. The Hurricanes also signed defenseman Alexander Nikishin to a one-year contract on Sunday; CBS Sports cited a report that he will need some time before his season debut.

The Bruins listed this game among 10 to circle on the 2026-27 schedule, noting that Carolina beat the Vegas Golden Knights in six games to win the Stanley Cup on June 14.
