Weekend brunch is a fixture in Somerville, where squares like Davis, Union, Ball and Magoun each have a cluster of cafes, diners and taverns. The Green Line Extension has made several of these neighborhoods easier to reach from Boston and Medford.
We separate two kinds of places here. The first group lists dedicated brunch hours on Google, so we show those hours. The second group is breakfast and daytime restaurants that serve morning food every day but do not list a separate brunch service. Hours, phone numbers and ratings come from each business’s Google profile, checked Oct. 22, 2026.

How we chose these places
This list starts with businesses in The Boston Report’s Somerville directory, then adds places from Google Maps business profiles checked on Oct. 22, 2026. For Somerville brunch, we only describe a place as serving brunch if its Google profile lists brunch hours. Others are labeled as breakfast or daytime spots. We did not accept payment for placement, and we did not include places that Google marked as permanently or temporarily closed. Ratings and review counts are a snapshot from that date and will change.
Restaurant hours change often, especially around holidays and in winter. The hours above come from each business’s Google profile, not from the restaurant directly, so call ahead or check the restaurant’s own website before you go. If you run one of these businesses and see an error, email us and we will correct it.
Tips before you go
Expect lines at popular spots between about 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. A few take reservations; many are walk-in only.
Somerville enforces street-cleaning and snow-emergency parking rules; see our Somerville street sweeping and snow guide. The Green Line’s Union Square, Gilman Square, Magoun Square and Ball Square stations and the Red Line’s Davis station serve most of these restaurants.
Most of these restaurants are small businesses. Weekend evenings book up first; where a restaurant takes reservations, booking ahead is the safest plan. Ask about allergens directly, because menus posted online are not always current.
