Amazon introduced a new batch of Alexa hardware at a media event in New York on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, led by the Echo Show 16, its biggest smart display yet. The company also showed a bedside clock called Echo Time, its first Echo speaker with a built-in camera, a redesigned Echo Dot and a stand-alone Alexa Photo Frame. Panos Panay, Amazon’s senior vice president of devices and services, presented the lineup and said a couple of hundred million people now use Alexa+, the company’s generative-AI version of its assistant.

Echo Show 16: price, size and features

Amazon lists the Echo Show 16 at $499.99, or $569.99 with a Nanomatte anti-glare screen, and is taking preorders now with $100 off during the preorder period. Shipping is set for later this year. Optional stands cost $69.99 and $124.99. The 16-inch display offers about 10% more viewing area than the Echo Show 15 in a body Amazon says is roughly 40% thinner.

The company is leaning on sound and video. The Show 16 packs eight woofers and two tweeters, a 13-megapixel wide-angle camera, and Fire TV built in, with a remote in the box. Visual ID, which recognizes household members, now works from up to 17 feet away instead of 8, and the camera adds night vision. Amazon says the device has 20% more computing power than before and runs new Screen Styles called Smart Home, Family Organizer and Photos, plus Alexa+ “Cards” that surface information on the home screen. Amazon added that sales of its Echo Show line grew more than 25% year over year.

Echo Time and the Alexa Photo Frame

Echo Time is a $199.99 bedside clock with a 3.2-inch round display that can dim to 0.3 nits so it does not light up a dark bedroom. Its most unusual feature is a smart alarm that uses ultrasonic sensing to track breathing and wake the sleeper during a lighter stage of sleep within a 10- to 60-minute window the user picks. It ships with more than 100 clock faces. A kids’ edition adds a Sleep Studio with content from Calm, Headspace and Moshi.

The Alexa Photo Frame is a 10-inch digital frame priced at $199.99 in black or $229 with a birch or walnut finish. It works with Amazon Photos, which is required, and lets family members leave voice notes attached to pictures. Wired described it as Amazon’s attempt to bring Alexa into rooms where a full smart display would feel out of place.

Echo Dot and an Echo Studio with a camera

The new Echo Dot costs $99.99, $20 more than the previous model. Amazon says it has four microphones, a new AZ3 chip, 50% more bass, and doubles as a Matter and Thread border router and an eero Wi-Fi extender. The company says it has sold more than 100 million Dots over the years.

The Echo Studio with Home Camera, at $249.99, is the first Echo speaker with a camera. Wired reported that it supports Live View, visual intelligence features and Advanced Room Adaptation, with Drop In video calling coming later through a software update. It has a button that turns off the microphones and camera, along with an indicator light. The standard Echo Studio without a camera is $219.99. Amazon also previewed Alexa Home Map, which it plans to release later this year.

How the lineup stacks up

The launch puts Amazon in a sharper fight for the kitchen counter and nightstand. Thurrott noted that Apple’s HomeView display sells for $299, below the Echo Show 16’s list price. Alexa+ remains included with a Prime membership, which Amazon is using as a selling point against rivals.
