The Revolution playoff picture is tighter than it looked a week ago. The New England Revolution (14-10-4, 46 points) lost 3-0 to the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night, Oct. 10, 2026, at Gillette Stadium, with six regular-season games left, and they still sit in a playoff position in the Eastern Conference.

This post combines the club’s match recap with the standings and schedule tables we checked on Oct. 11. Aggregator standings can lag, so check MLS for the live table. Earlier coverage: Revolution fall to Real Salt Lake, 3-0. More team coverage is in the Boston Sports hub.

What Happened Against Seattle

The Revolution’s recap said Hassani Dotson put Seattle ahead in the 15th minute after forcing a turnover, and Dejan Joveljic added a goal in the 74th and Paul Arriola in the 81st. New England had more possession and outshot Seattle 12-9, according to the club, but did not score.

Peyton Miller took five shots, four on target, matching his career highs. Seattle goalkeeper Andrew Thomas made a first-half stoppage-time save on a Miller chance. Attendance was 20,467. The Revolution’s home record stands at 9-3-2, per the club.

Where the Revolution Stand

Standings sites we checked after the match, StandingsToday and PlayoffsWiki, listed New England fourth in the East with 46 points from 28 games, a +6 goal difference and a record of 14 wins, 4 draws and 10 losses. Inter Miami had 49 points and Chicago 48 in the same table.

PlayoffsWiki explains that the top seven teams in each conference go straight to Round One, while eighth and ninth meet in a Wild Card match. It said that if the season ended Sunday, New England would be the No. 4 seed facing Charlotte. Nothing is clinched, the site notes.

The Six Games Left

According to the schedule tables, New England plays:

  • Wed., Oct. 14 at FC Cincinnati, 7:30 p.m. ET on Apple TV (per the club)
  • Sat., Oct. 17 vs. Chicago Fire, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sat., Oct. 24 at Philadelphia Union, 7:30 p.m.
  • Wed., Oct. 28 vs. New York Red Bulls, 7:30 p.m.
  • Sun., Nov. 1 vs. Inter Miami, 7 p.m.
  • Sat., Nov. 7 at Orlando City SC, 4 p.m.

The schedule includes games against Chicago and Miami, who are directly ahead of New England in the table, so the seed can still move either way. SBI Soccer noted Philadelphia is on a 12-match unbeaten run in MLS play since the World Cup break.

Notes From the Club

Diego Fagundez made his 300th appearance for the Revolution across all competitions as a late substitute. Miller and midfielder Brooklyn Raines returned from international duty after their senior debuts with the U.S. men’s national team, and Dor Turgeman and Ilay Feingold came back from the Israel national team, per the club.

The Blazing Musket wrote on Oct. 6 that a berth would be the club’s first playoff appearance since 2023.

What We Don’t Know

We don’t have an official clinching scenario from MLS, and we haven’t seen injury reports for the Cincinnati game. Whether the Revolution can finish higher than fourth depends on results elsewhere as well. Check back after Wednesday’s match for an update.
