Red Sox spring training 2027 at JetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida, begins Feb. 19 with the club’s traditional exhibition against Northeastern University. The Red Sox released the schedule on Sept. 4, 2026, the same day Major League Baseball announced that all 30 clubs would open Cactus and Grapefruit League play on Feb. 19. Here is what is confirmed so far, and what is not.
Key dates at JetBlue Park
According to the team and NESN’s report on the release, Boston has 15 Grapefruit League home games at the ballpark known as Fenway South. Confirmed home dates include:
- Feb. 19: Northeastern (college exhibition)
- Feb. 21: Minnesota Twins (Grapefruit League home opener)
- Feb. 22: St. Louis Cardinals (split-squad day)
- Feb. 23: Philadelphia Phillies
- Feb. 25: Baltimore Orioles
- March 5: Minnesota Twins (split-squad day)
- March 17: New York Yankees
The full home slate, including dates not listed above, is posted on the Red Sox spring training page. Readers should check it directly before booking travel, since teams sometimes adjust exhibition schedules.
Road games around Florida
Boston opens Grapefruit League play on the road at the Tampa Bay Rays’ Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte on Feb. 20. On Feb. 22, while one squad hosts the Cardinals, another travels to Sarasota to face the Orioles at Ed Smith Stadium. The second split-squad day, March 5, sends a group to the Rays while the rest stay home against the Twins. The Red Sox also visit the Yankees’ spring complex in Tampa on March 9.
Other spring opponents named in the release include the Pittsburgh Pirates, Atlanta Braves, Detroit Tigers, Washington Nationals and Toronto Blue Jays.
A West Coast finish
Instead of wrapping up in Florida, the Red Sox will play two exhibitions against the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park on March 22 and 23, according to MLB’s Sept. 4 announcement. MLB said the 2027 regular season opens with a single game on Netflix on March 24, followed by a full Opening Day slate March 25. NESN reported that Boston opens with a four-game series at Seattle, then plays three at Houston before returning to Fenway Park.
Other Florida exhibitions late in March
MLB said several exhibition games from March 20 to 23 will be played at major and minor league ballparks. In Florida, the Toronto Blue Jays visit the Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg on March 20, and the Detroit Tigers play the Rays there on March 21 and 23. The league said more exhibitions are expected to be added in the coming months.
Tickets and game times: not yet announced
As of Oct. 23, 2026, game times and individual ticket on-sale details had not been released. The Red Sox ticket page says both “will be finalized and announced at a later date.” Spring training season tickets are offered separately through the team. The Boston Report will not list prices until the club publishes them; fans should buy through the team or MLB’s official outlets to avoid unofficial resale markups.
Planning a trip from Boston
JetBlue Park sits in Fort Myers in Lee County, and the closest major airport is Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW). Delta has announced up to 21 weekly Boston-Fort Myers flights in its April 2027 peak schedule; for winter options from Logan, see our guide to Boston-to-Florida flights this winter.

Why Fort Myers draws New Englanders
Florida’s population reached 23,462,518 in mid-2025, the U.S. Census Bureau estimates, and Massachusetts is a leading source of new residents. The Census Bureau’s 2024 American Community Survey estimates that about 21,834 people who had lived in Massachusetts a year earlier were living in Florida. Lee County, home to JetBlue Park, is one of the regions where Red Sox fans gather each February and March.
JetBlue Park opened in 2012 and was built to mirror Fenway Park’s dimensions, including a replica Green Monster in left field. Its field layout lets fans watch players in conditions that resemble the home park they will play in from April through September.
What to watch this spring
Manager Chad Tracy will use the early split-squad dates to look at prospects and non-roster invitees, NESN noted. Spring statistics rarely carry over to the regular season, but roster battles often get decided in March. For current Boston sports coverage, see our latest Patriots recap.
