Boston College football goes for its first road win of 2026 on Saturday, Oct. 24, at Georgia Tech, with kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET at Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta on ACC Network. The Eagles (3-3, 1-2 ACC) arrive off a 27-21 homecoming win over Pitt, while the Yellow Jackets (2-4, 1-2 ACC) are trying to rebound from a loss at Virginia Tech.
Boston College vs. Georgia Tech: series and stakes
Georgia Tech leads the all-time series 8-5, according to the ACC’s Week 8 preview. Last season the Yellow Jackets won 36-34 in Chestnut Hill, snapping a three-game losing streak against BC. Both teams sit at 1-2 in conference play, and the ACC says 12 of its 17 programs are .500 or better entering the weekend.
BC is 3-1 at home and 0-2 on the road this season, per the Eagles’ official schedule. The results so far: a 34-15 loss at Cincinnati, home wins over Rutgers (28-21) and Maine (22-16), a 21-14 home loss to Virginia Tech, a 25-16 loss at then-No. 21 SMU and the 27-21 win over Pitt after a bye week.
Momentum from the Pitt comeback
BC trailed Pitt 12-0 early on Oct. 17 before rallying for its first ACC win of the season and sealing it with a fourth-quarter interception. Quarterback Mason McKenzie threw for a career-high 295 yards and two touchdowns. His 444 rushing yards this season already rank fifth on BC’s single-season list for quarterbacks, according to the ACC.
Wide receiver Landon Wright had 122 receiving yards against Pitt, including a 69-yard touchdown and a 53-yard catch that set up the Eagles’ final touchdown.
BC’s defense is forcing turnovers
The Eagles’ defense has 11 takeaways in six games, eight interceptions and three fumble recoveries, which ranks second in the ACC, according to BC’s Week 8 game notes. BC allows 169.3 passing yards per game, second in the conference and 18th nationally, and holds opponents to five yards per play.
Linebacker Anthony Palano is tied for fourth in the ACC with 51 tackles and has two interceptions. KP Price leads the conference with 29 solo tackles, and Carter Davis had a career-high 11 tackles and a forced fumble against Pitt.
What Georgia Tech brings
The pass defense will be tested. Georgia Tech quarterback Alberto Mendoza threw for a career-high 335 yards in last week’s 34-24 loss at Virginia Tech and has completed 71 percent of his passes for 1,528 yards and nine touchdowns this season. Receiver Jordan Allen became the first Yellow Jacket with back-to-back 10-catch games, totaling 20 receptions against Duke and Virginia Tech. Georgia Tech outgained the Hokies 428-409 and averaged a season-best 7.3 yards per play in that loss.
The Yellow Jackets’ pass rush recorded five sacks at Virginia Tech after managing six in its first five games.
