How BC got here

The Eagles had won two straight before Duke, including a 49-27 win at Georgia Tech on Oct. 24, according to Sportradar results:

  • Wins: Rutgers 28-21, Maine 22-16, Pittsburgh 27-21, at Georgia Tech 49-27
  • Losses: at Cincinnati 34-15, Virginia Tech 21-14, at SMU 25-16, at Duke 47-2

The final stretch

  • Nov. 7: Florida State (3-5), noon, at home
  • Nov. 14: at Notre Dame (7-1), 3:30 p.m.
  • Nov. 21: Syracuse (4-4), 1 p.m., at home
  • Nov. 28: at Miami (8-0)

The two home games, against Florida State and Syracuse, look like BC’s best chances. Florida State has lost five of eight, and Syracuse is 4-4, according to Sportradar. Notre Dame and unbeaten Miami are two of the strongest teams in the country.

What to watch Saturday

  • A response on offense. BC scored only a safety at Duke, after putting up 49 points at Georgia Tech the week before.
  • Home field. BC is 3-1 at Alumni Stadium this season, with its only home loss to Virginia Tech.
