The Boston Fleet open training camp on Wednesday, Nov. 18, at Boston Sports Institute with a 29-player roster, ahead of a 2026-27 PWHL season that starts Dec. 6 in New York and brings the team to a new home rink, Boston University’s Agganis Arena, on Dec. 9. The league announced the camp roster and full schedule in early October.

A bigger PWHL with new conferences
The league’s fourth season will have a record 180 games from Saturday, Dec. 5, through Sunday, April 18, with 12 teams split for the first time into Eastern and Western conferences, according to the Fleet’s schedule announcement. Boston plays in the Eastern Conference with PWHL Hamilton, the Montréal Victoire, the New York Sirens, the Ottawa Charge and the Toronto Sceptres. The Western Conference has PWHL Detroit, PWHL Las Vegas, the Minnesota Frost, PWHL San Jose, the Seattle Torrent and the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
Boston will play 30 regular-season games: 18 against its own conference and 12 against the West. Every team in the league will visit Boston at least once. The Fleet has 12 home games at Agganis Arena, and more than half of its schedule falls on weekends, with 12 Saturday games and four Sunday games.
The Walter Cup playoffs also expand this season to eight teams, the top four in each conference, over three rounds. The first round is four best-of-three series, followed by best-of-five conference finals and a best-of-five Walter Cup Final. The first-place team in each conference will choose its first-round opponent from the third- or fourth-place team in its conference, a choice the league expanded to both conferences this season.
Boston Fleet training camp roster
The camp roster has 15 forwards, nine defenders and five goaltenders. Nineteen players are already signed for the season, and 16 played for the Fleet in 2025-26; the two groups overlap. “We have a great mix of returning players, along with draft picks and camp invites, and there are certainly roster spots to compete for,” general manager Danielle Marmer said in the team’s announcement.
Forwards: Jaden Bogden (Northeastern), Loren Gabel, Jenna Goodwin (Frölunda HC), Taylor House (Ottawa Charge), Ella Huber, Laura Kluge, Shay Maloney, Sarah Marchand (MoDo Hockey), Olivia Mobley, Abby Newhook, Jill Saulnier, Liz Schepers, Sophie Shirley, Susanna Tapani and Luisa Welcke (Boston University).
Defenders: Amanda Boulier (Montréal Victoire), Grace Dwyer (Cornell), Vivian Hinch (St. Francis Xavier), Megan Keller, Maeve Kelly (Boston University), Rylind MacKinnon, Leah Stecker (Penn State), Haley Winn and Olivia Zafuto.
Goaltenders: Abby Hornung (Holy Cross), Aerin Frankel, Lindsay Reed (Harvard), Natalie Stott (Amherst) and Amanda Thiele.
Players with no school or other team listed were with the Fleet last season. Several have local college ties: Bogden comes from Northeastern, Welcke and Kelly from BU, Reed from Harvard and Hornung from Holy Cross. Dwyer was Boston’s first-round pick and signed through 2028-29 on Sept. 30. Stecker, a third-round pick, signed through 2028-29 in August. Winn, the league’s reigning Rookie of the Year, was extended through 2028-29 in July, according to the team’s news page.
Offseason moves
The Fleet’s offseason ran through the league’s expansion player distribution process in June. Boston re-signed and protected forward Susanna Tapani on June 10, completed a trade with PWHL Detroit on June 16, and re-signed forwards Jill Saulnier and Sophie Shirley to two-year contracts on June 18. On June 20 the team added defender Amanda Boulier and forward Taylor House and re-signed Rylind MacKinnon, Loren Gabel and Laura Kluge. Forward Abby Newhook re-signed on July 15.
