The Brewers World Series parade filled downtown Milwaukee on Friday, Oct. 30, as the club celebrated the first championship in its history. The procession began at 10 a.m. and ended at Henry Maier Festival Park, two days after Milwaukee beat the Tampa Bay Rays 4-1 in Game 5 at Tropicana Field to win the series four games to one.
A parade 35 hours after the final out
The Associated Press reported that tens of thousands of fans packed the streets, parking garages and office windows along the route. According to the team’s celebration page, the parade started at North Vel R. Phillips Avenue and West Wisconsin Avenue, and the festival grounds opened at 8 a.m. with free admission until capacity was reached.
Milwaukee Magazine reported that the players’ buses rolled through downtown about 35 hours after the Game 5 win. Team captain Christian Yelich held the Commissioner’s Trophy at the front of the first bus. The procession paused for roughly 10 minutes at Jackson and Mason streets, below the 100-foot mural of late broadcaster Bob Uecker, so players could step off for photos with fans.
Former stars Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Ted Simmons, Rollie Fingers, Ryan Braun and Eric Thames rode in cars behind the team buses. Manager Pat Murphy came last, seated in the bed of a pickup truck with his sons. Four Wisconsin National Guard UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters flew over as the procession reached the Summerfest grounds, where the rally followed.
How the Brewers closed out Game 5
The clincher on Wednesday, Oct. 28, drew 40,489 to Tropicana Field and lasted 3 hours, 5 minutes, according to the Baseball-Reference box score. It came less than a day after the Rays had extended the series with a 4-3 win in 12 innings in Game 4.
Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt drove in Brice Turang with a second-inning single for a 1-0 lead. In the fifth, Pratt singled again, his sixth straight hit, which MLB.com reported as a World Series rookie record, and scored on a David Hamilton single. In the sixth, William Contreras doubled home Yelich, and Pratt added a sacrifice fly for a 4-0 cushion.
Starter Jacob Misiorowski threw 5 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing two hits and one walk before leaving with a right calf cramp. JoJo Romero, Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill finished the game. Tampa Bay’s only run came in the ninth on a Chandler Simpson double off Megill. Rays starter Drew Rasmussen, pitching on short rest, allowed one run in four innings and took the loss.
Contreras was named the Willie Mays World Series MVP. First baseman Jake Bauers had earlier won NLCS MVP honors.
By the numbers: a lopsided Fall Classic

Milwaukee outscored Tampa Bay 25-12 over five games, a margin of 13 runs. That works out to 5.0 runs per game for the Brewers and 2.4 for the Rays, meaning Milwaukee scored a little more than twice as often (TBR calculations from Baseball-Reference data). Game 3, a 10-1 rout, accounted for nine of the 13-run edge; the other four games were each decided by one or three runs.
The pitching split was even wider. Brewers pitchers posted a 1.91 ERA in the series and held the Rays to a .182 batting average, while Tampa Bay’s staff had a 4.89 ERA and allowed a .280 average. Jackson Chourio went 11-for-24 (.458), and Pratt hit .421 with seven RBI.

Across October, the Brewers went 11-2, an .846 winning percentage (TBR calculation). They beat San Diego 3-1 in the NL Division Series, swept the two-time defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS and then took four of five from the Rays. Added to a 103-59 regular season, the run gave Milwaukee 114 wins in 2026.
Ending a wait that dates to 1957
This was the Brewers’ 57th season in Milwaukee. The franchise’s only previous World Series trip, in 1982, ended with a Game 7 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals. The city’s last baseball title belonged to the 1957 Milwaukee Braves. With this win, four current franchises have never won a World Series: the Mariners, Padres, Rays and Rockies, according to MLB.com.
“This 2026 team will be remembered forever,” Murphy told reporters after Game 5. Yelich, the 2018 NL MVP, said, “All those years where it wasn’t our year were worth it for the year that it was.”
The Rays had their own praise for the champions. “That’s the best team I’ve played at the Major League level,” Rasmussen said after the loss.
The Boston Report previously covered the Brewers’ 10-1 Game 3 rout of the Rays, along with Craig Breslow’s search for Red Sox power bats and the Red Sox spring training 2027 schedule.
